TVR bust again?

I hear that the remaining TVR staff have all been laid off. Does that mean that TVR has finally petered out for good or is Nikolai going to build them himself?

We were at the factory about 3 weeks ago talking to the guys,self employed, when we were at The Big Bad Wedge Fest in Blackpool. None of them mentioned the fact that they were closing unless things have went pear shaped since then, who knows !!!! cheers john.

The businesses at Bristol Avenue have nothing to do with TVR and are all still trading.

The poster is referring to the guys employed by NS at the Wesham barn. X-Works are also unaffected by this.

TVR are stuffed really as the Russian doesn't seem to care about building in the UK - which is so opposed to the essence of what a TVR is. I know of people ready and willing to make TVR but he won't release the franchise. I see no hope

Depends on what shape and form the new TVR would take, wouldn't it? Especially since there's nowt more than the brand name and the design rights to the cars and the Speed Six engine left. I think the Ginbetta model, concentrating on motorsport and aftersales (still a rather sizeable car parc of the brand on the roads, and people willing to spend 'real' money on them) with a couple dozen road cars thrown in for good measure (and column inches) would be feasible on a tight financial scheme - and probably the best option to keep things going in the current climate.

I heard tell that Postman Pat was going to put an offer in to buy the badge but Jess wanted potted shrimps for his dinner so that buggered that little venture up.

I'd answer that by saying I'd rather have a glass that's half-full rather than half-empty.

However I think some independants made a nice amount of cash out of the sag 2. Just think of those customers who paid a deposit that is now sat in their high interest account earning them money for doing bugger all work.
