After some time looking and an equal amount of time deliberating and considering the pros and cons I've finally seen sence and bought my first TVR.

For the 'This Thread Is No Good Without Pictures' brigade, it'll have to wait. It was dark when I got back, so am awaiting a suitable photo opportunity.

For those who know it, the car is Ren Dao's old V8S. Cheers Ren. I enjoyed the journey home, but could see how bad you felt about seeing her go. I know you'll be back when circumstances allow!

Don't think the car will make me many new friends in my sleepy little town though. The noise as we drove home through the narrow streets had me and the GF in fits of laughter . The neighbours (also car mad) appeared within seconds of rolling onto the drive. She's now tucked up in the garage (it did fit!) awaiting the next 50 mile trip to pick up a paper, or a pint of milk!

Greeeeat looking V8S. Seems to be the weekend for people getting their new Trevs.

I know what you mean about 50 miles for a paper..... they do seem to encourage it.
Me earlier: Hi Mum, can we come over for tea.
Mum: Sure, is your fridge empty again?
Me: No, but there's around 30 miles of A road from here to there

Congrats, great looking V8S , I'm sure JSG, the owner previous to Ren, is feeling a twinge as well to see it move on. Very tidy car, of the best sort IMHO, rare to boot

It's going to take a while for this to sink in. Last night was almost as restless as the previous night. I lay there awake pondering exactly what I have just done!

Annoying thing is, I got home in the dark last night, I go to work in the dark, I get home in the dark, so wont get the chance to 'play' until the weekend.

There are a few things I can be doing in the meantime though. I want to put together a touring tool/spares kit to keep in the boot. From what I've been told I think a spare throttle cable is high on the list. Where's the best place to get one of these?

I also need to get hold of a new service record booklet. The others are full of stamps (a good thing!). Will my local dealer provide me with one of these?

Roll on the weekend and let it be good weather.

Pete,

You g1t You've got a good car there, it has always been owned by enthusiasts and maintained regardless of expense. I'd just about got all the niggles ironed out from it's previous low mileage existance when I had to sell it

Ren spent money sorting it out after having it broken into so it must be like new now.

Hopefully you got all the previous history with it - I passed on a complete file including the PDI sheet. I've still got loads of photos and the memory of that sound

I'd be interested in a mail letting me know how much you paid if that's not too cheeky.

Good luck,
JSG.
