Tamora doubters........
Discussion
Took out The TVR Centres's Tamora on Saturday whilst waiting for a minor niggle on my Tuscan to be fixed.
Sensational.........reminded me of my Elise with alot more power.......intimate feedback through both steering and "seat of pants", great ride quality, didn't tramline as much as my Tuscan, very drivable.
Put your opinion of the looks on "hold" & drive one.
Wish I had before I'd bought the Tuscan.
I'm not on commision by the way.......just very impressed/shocked........

You just need people to start test driving the Tamora and that alone will sell the car to them. While It might well not have the Tuscan's WOW factor in the looks department it isn't as though you have to drive it with a bag on your head. I had reservations on the looks at first but now I really do like it, park it next to a Griff or Chimp and it doesn't look out of place. With a quick poll of the lads at work they all loved the way it looked even the ones that didn't like it in the pictures they had seen.
Glad you enjoyed it. I don't want to become repetetive here as I have maybe defended it too much.
However my story is that I had to sell my beloved Cerbera when I was made redundant last year and as soon as I got myself sorted in another job I was back at the dealer to get myself another TVR. I fancied a Tuscan, and also considered going back to a Griff or Chim. But once I had a go in a Tamora there really wasn't any other TVR I wanted anymore. The way it handles still stuns me now and the standard of finish and the simplicity of the controls etc. is way above any of my other TVR's of the past. I can understand peoples doubts about the styling but I think once people have got used to it being around and have had a go in one they will warm to it like I did. I took the car to the Mid Essex TVR meeting yesterday and got a very positive response from everyone I spoke to.

I popped into Hawthorns the other day (no, I haven't broken down again, I was just passing!) and had a good look at the three Tamoras they have there at the moment. The Tamora definitely looks better in darker colours, especially the dark grey which is incidentally the darkest colour the factory will allow dealers to have, apparantly - they feel that the lighter colours accentuate the curves more. Maybe true, but they also accentuate those awful black vents and the prolapsed diffuser. These are nicely toned down by a darker colour though (in my humble opinion).

Just as an initial disclaimer:
I like the Tamora, think its lovely.
There, now thats over with.
Why is it that TVR are so hell bent on keeping the diffuser black and the bits on the bonnet black and initially not letting people order in black?
I just dont understand it, when I upgrade from the Chim to either the Cerb/Tuscan or 'Beckwith' I want black (or a variation thereof) and if they say no, then they've lost the sale. Its just ridiculous.
Matt.
