New to TVR!! Need some help!

Hi guys,

I am a newbie to TVR's but have always wanted one. I have decided now is the time... I have about £16k to spend and have my eyes on these two... (you might have to cut and paste the links)

Can anyone avise what to look out for? Or make some comments on the two cars?

Personally I'd buy something to have a few £k left in the bank... you never know. I'd also drive a few, to get to know how they feel, and don't be seduced by the noise, rather than anything else...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have some spare £ just in case - I know what they can be like! I just love the shape, feel and think they drive like a dream - just after some advice really.

They both look worth further investigation to me.

You realy need them inspecting if your going to spend all your budget.
I didnt and eneded up with a rebuild after 34 miles.

Just be careful and you will find a realy good Tuscan.

Engine wise, the one in autotrader has a recent re-build at TVR Power - given that you are looking at a pre-2003 car, that would be enough for me to go for that one rather than the other (nicer colour as well IMHO).

As for what to look out for on the Tuscan, never had one I'm afraid so can't help!

Don't know if you would be interested but I will be listing my p&j in the classifieds at the weekend(once I've taken some pictures) and it will be around your price range but is a much later car than the ones you have listed above (a november '03 build) so has alot of mods the early ones don't, one of the main ones being the heatshielding around the chassis by the cats.

DR K - Interesting point, I gave them ring. They didnt know much about the history, and said he had not had a rebuild or a clutch - he also commented it might never need a rebuild?

I tested the MkI Tuscan before I tested the Sagaris, and that was that Sag it was. Never was tempted to try the Tuscan S or MkII, but Im sure its a great car, maybe I'll get one as a second TVR sometime

But Im sticking with the Sag at mo
