A mate of mine with nothing better to do ha taken it as his personal mission to go looking at TVRs for me.

He spent today at Peninsula TVR in Portsmouth where he had (I think) three test drives and was offered £5,000 off a £33,000 Tuscan without even asking.

Apparently they also said if we're both buying they'll let us borrow something for a day.

Now. I know anyone can knock £5,000 off a car if it's already £5,000 overpriced but multi-test drives and loaners? Is this normal in TVR land or is someone feeling the pinch?

They are a good bunch of guys.

Stock is still stock and it's useless to keep it on the forecourt forever. Rather make no/very little profit than have it sat there all winter...

Seems alittle excessive knocking that sort of figure of a car, however this time of year with new cars still coming it may be logical to turn as much stock over as poss keeping things moving. Good bunch of guys there speak to Richard Smith

My Griff is both maintained and upgraded by Peninsula and I have always been very pleased with both the results and their reasonable costs - they are also very pleasant people to deal with.

Probably the best recommendation I can give about the guys , is that , they have looked after my Chimaera , restored Mrs H 400SE , and now look after the SEAC , and we regularly go down there from Cheshire ( Was down last weekend) . Despite local alternatives ( And no disrespect to them ) we won't go anywhere else.

Mines currently with Richard, he's fitting new Magnecor ignition leads,ACT carbon fibre plenum,Mark Adams chip, new "Richard Smith" design exhaust system and of course tune/service. On top of that iv'e asked him to fit some very special wheels/tyres. Sort of giving myself a christmas pressie. Have you seen the silver 500SE at peninsula thats had all the above work done?
