Just announced on the TVRCC the sad passing of Peter Wheeler after a long illness.

The end of an era.

Thanks for my Griffith Peter your legacy will live on.

Condolences to his family, friends and collegues.

I regret I never had the privilege & opportunity to meet Peter. I was only driving into work today in the Tamora thinking "What a fab way to start the day". The TVR effect seems to have the ability to spread a little magic wherever it goes

Our heartfelt condolences to his family & friends for their loss. Another leading light of the TVR Story and legend lost. A sad day indeed.

Me too regarding the illness.

I didn't respond to this topic for a bit as I had to get my bearings as I kept thinking it was very early April, even though it is not the sort of subject matter that would be joked about !

That is sad news. I briefly met Peter at a TVR track day at Croft - he was driving a Tuscan race car around and could certainly peddle it! He has left a significant mark on the motoring world with his ambition and vision at TVR.

I picked my car up from the factory one day after a service and a couple of miles down the road remembered that I had left something in reception. I shot back and only nipping in I parked in the only convenient empty space outside the front door. When I stepped out a few seconds later PW had arrived and was out of his car, not blocking me in, before I could say anything he cheerily greeted me by name (amazing me) and had a good chat. His is a sad loss.
