Supposing TVR were to open again for business tomorrow, what engine would everyone like to see under the bonnet,an in house engine like the original speed 6,perhaps in one of its latest guises from Power,Racing Green or indeed the Latest Melling offering,or one of the LS engines which would give proven reliability and oodles of tuning potential,or non of the above and something german perhaps(ok ok,i will walk directly to the corner, put the dunces hat on and say 100 times"i must not say something german in connection with TVR's engine bay"
secondly what horsepower would everybody like as a base line,400/450bhp ?

Ideally 'sorted' versions of the SP6 and AJP, both of which have had a fair bit of development over the past couple of years, and would probably hold their own.

Here we go again (still nice to dream):
S6 4.3 with 425 bhp
S6 4.3 SC with 500 bhp

entre level model with external/off the shelf V6 or 4 cylinder turbo doing 250-300 bhp.

will never happen though ...

a big V8, minimum 600BHP maybe turbocharged, putting TVR's once again right at the top of the pile, no nancy screaming sixes for me.

Quite right Melling should be Mr TVR now what a balls up. What have we got now, the badge gathering dust somewhere in Russia or where ever.

Any new car with a Speed Six fitted would have been professional suicide, I can't believe the numpties that bought into 'TVR reborn' in a barn last year.

It's gone, enjoy the cars that are around now, if you hanker after something newer, then buy something else, don't sit around and wait, you'll be a lot older if it ever happens.

Corin: You get the thumbs up from here. We just stroked a Boss Ford 302 to 347 in one of our pre 1980 Taimars and that just about gives you a suicide moment when you step on it. Could have had an "Exotic or Porsha" but NO, I HAD to have a Tiv as I wanted something that I could enjoy before they were all gone. Have now restored 2 V8 Taimars and a 73 supercharged 2500M and my girls will have very dependable cars handed down to them to enjoy for many more years. Even the Lucas parts don't scare them. Still would love getting a Sag over on this side of the pond. Buddy's Ultima kit car with the LS engine down the street is pulling me to the dark side but my 30 year affair with TVRs gives me the GRIN.

I'd like to see if AM can produce the goods on his SP6 engine claims, and whether he can produce the AJP8 with 4 valves per cylinder which he keeps promising.
In my cloud cuckoo world a choice of the above, but what ever, it must have the choice of a V8 or straight 6.
You can keep ya namby pamby blown 4 pots for the rice burners, tivs are 'old skool' and should stay that way smile
