I'm still using it after my evaluation: www.pistonheads.com/features/zymol.htm
Good stuff and not expensive in terms of the overall cost of the car, but expensive compared to washing up liquid. It's good stuff, but I'm not in a position to comment in relation to other products.
You'll be deluged with a bunch of recommendations for Autoglym now though...

come on ted, i ain't talking about using washing up liquid, i was more in line with the stuff you see in frost's catalogue.
anyway, now i've found someone who has used zymöl, how many times a year do they recommend doing the clean, cleanse and feed? (can't believe i just typed that!) also, what do you do week in week out, when the car's picked up general road filth?

It is good stuff.
Almost too good as it brought up so many paint defections on my tuscan, and showed just how bad TVR painting REALLY is.
Initially there is alot of muscle work. Once done though, just one wax every other month is enough along with a wash every week.
Best stuff is field glaze. Gets rid of traffic film without having to wash the whole car again.

Someone used their fingers to draw pictures on my car when it was covered in dust and muck (i'm currently living on a building site), the result was a car covered in scratches. Zymol was recommended to repair the damage...
I've been using Zymol products for a few months now (picked them up when I was in the States). I have a dark coloured Tuscan and use the HD Cleanse and Titanium wax. It will make your car look like it's just come from the factory. The downside is the Titanium wax is applied by hand, literally, no appicators, just your hands... it takes approx. 5-6 hours to cleanse and wax, but it's well worth the effort.
I was hesitant at first to spend so much on cleaner and wax (over $130). Since using the products I've not regretted it one bit as the HD Cleanse 'repaired' the scratches and makes my car look new everytime.

i've gone for one of the starter kits having had a few recommendations. spoke to a bloke at zymol who reckoned the pot of wax in the kit will last for years, even if used every month, and that's the expensive part. if it's as good as people say, it's well worth it.
great looking tuscan by the way.

I have been using Zymol for two years now on my MX-5 and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. I currently use the same wax as blackmonday, their Titanium wax. I tried Carbon but found it didn't last that long.
It is definately one of the best products you can get in this country. There are better, but you need to look at importing. The US have some fantastic products. I have just invested in a polymer sealant called Zaino (www.zainobros.com), which is sold by a guy in the US. If you look around on the 'net, you'll find this stuff is incredibly highly rated in the US. It offers just as good a shine (if not better) as a Carnauba wax (ie Zymol), but the durability is far superior. I've yet to try it out, as I'm saving it until the TVR arrives (this Friday!!), but I'll post my findings when I've given the car a good going over.

Attached is a copy of Zymol's e-mail reply, when asked which product they consider best for a TVR...
Thank you for your enquiry. The most appropriate wax for your TVR is Ital
Wax. Ital was developed with and for Ferrari North America. It contains a
massive 47% Carnauba, gives a fantastic shine that really lasts. It is most
appropriate because it was designed for gel coat over composite bodywork and
has a large amount of flexing agent incorporated into it.
May I suggest you look at an Ital & Treat Starter Kit (Ital & Vinyl if you
do not have a leather int'), Tyre and a Wheel Clean Kit. This will give you
everything you require to totally zymöl your TVR inside and out including
waxing the wheels!

We looked at Zymol and considered becoming agents.
Didn't do it in the end, thought the the initial outlay for a customer was too steep.
A new and far better product is Permagard that is virtually maintenance free and guaranteed.

...and no, we are not agents.

I thought I'd ring TVR to find out what they use on their show cars - it's a speedwax, made by Autosmart. I've rung them, and they only sell through franchises, and it seems they are either polymer or carnauba based polishes.
Sixspeed - how did you make your order to Zaino Bros? I'm assuming there'll be shipping charges etc.

Nubbin,
The reason I did not go for Zaino when I originally looked at polishes/waxes was because they do not accept credit card orders, and I am too lazy to bother with money orders and cheques etc.
Fortunately, there are now several distributors of Zaino in the US, and I have found one that does online credit card ordering that will ship internationally. They are a Corvette specialist and can be found at www.ecklers.com.
If you really want to get into "detailing" (as they call it over there), take a look at this site - www.autopia-carport.com - and look in their forums. You can get very carried away with this stuff! (but then, thats the same with anything!)
