NCD proof is normally accepted from the policy schedule of past/current insurance Co which details NCD level. When the misus needed this for her new ins company, they also accepted the old policy # and said they 'might' check themselves as I had binned the old policy docs.

One large well known broker and insurance company did this to me a few years back so when my new insurer asked for the additional payment or proof of NCD by a set date I sent them both a copy of the letter along a bill for my time chasing them, telephone calls, stamps etc and copied the Insurance Ombudsman.

The broker ignored me blaming the insurance company and the insurance company refunded me the amount owing, sent my NCD proof by courier and paid the bill which paid for the two years I'd been insured with them up to that point.

Moral of this is now whenever I have a problem with any of these companies I always state that if not satisfactorily resolved by a set date I will refer to the ombudsman, it always seems to work for me (also occurred with a dispute over vets fees and policy wording and house insurance excess)

Good luck

Go to the insurance ombudsman, and tell them(insurance co.) that you are doing so.I had the same trouble when trying to get my money out of a car club approved insurance co.rolleyes.it took me 3 monthsfuriousIt's only when they are due to pay out that you find out just how good an insurance co. is,and car club approval certainly doesn't gaurantee the Insurance co. are any good imho!
Best of luck.
