Went on the ferry a few weeks back, but not in the TVR.
Sat in the car waiting to get off and when the 'start your engines' time came, heard a huge un-mistakable roar which shook the upper car deck and left all the old dears in their micras ducking for cover. Yellow Chimaera!

Which Isle of Wight ferry, aren't there two? I've been over in my Griff from Lymington to the west side (can't remember the name) with 2 heavy people in the car. No problems but I took the ramp at 45 degrees.
Bear in mind though that if it's anything like the ferry at Sandbanks in Poole, the ramp angle is less at high tide than it is a low tide.
Also, they charge you 50 quid for a return trip at Lymington. How much?!

That's the badger! It did seem extrodinarily expensive but I was trying to impress a young lady at the time so I couldn't tell them to stick their ferry up their channel. This also precluded the donut as I find that it's difficult to get a second date with girls who throw up on the first one.
My folks live on the IOw so visit regularly.

Cowes - Southamton
Fishbourne - Portsmouth
The costs are quite expensive with even a weekend return ticket costing £50. However, each ferry company regularly puts into the local IOW rag low cost vouchers for friends and family, so if you have family or friends there then ask them to save a voucher for you. Also you can get cheaper fares if you decide to travel at stupid times on stupid days.

Had great weekend with Mrs Evo in the Isle of Wight (it was closed BTW), and with no probs getting the Chim on and off the ferry. We did have to drive down this Stttupidly crap lane to get to a vinyard thingy ,yawn you get the idea, and I did decide to see how much clerance I had, silly idea as I had little more than an inch when I looked, I'm sure my chim sits lower than normal.
