Paint in a can
Discussion
http://www.paints4u.com have a huge range available and were able to provide some paint for my Tiv. Great service too; just have a look in the paint code sticky in this forum to find your paint code and go from there.

...in theory. ;DIn truth if you have anything other than a stock paint from BMW, Merc, VW etc then you can expect there to be a variation.
I was talking to Malcolm at S&D and he said he's found six (IIRC) different mixes for one colour when he was checking his records recently so make sure you have a match before you spend your money.

Hi Pink Floyd, looking for the same as you I contacted paint4u about a month ago and they could only find Venezian Blue as water based on the code 188 4YJ9B.
My TVR Log Book said 188 which is STARMIST BLUE 4YJ9B
But engine bay plate shows 422-4YJ9B (email them again and they never replied)
As far as I got was the 422 is the make of paint which is ICI. The other number is colour code, can any one confirm that 4YJ9B is Starmist blue or did tvr rename it.
If you manage to find it could you post the details on the thread.

I got Starmist Blue from these people; http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/index.php. Just e-mail them the full code and they do the rest. And, yes it does need a laquer coat to make it shine properly. They also do primer and, if you are starting from bare glassfibre, a 'tack' coat to maximise adhesion.

Hi V8 GRF, Just to clarify, so even if you have the ICI code for a paint, TVR may have meddled/remixed it? Or does having the ICI code probably mean you are in the clear?
Anyone know if S&D (will) do touch-up paints, or just (with) paintwork?
Of interest to anyone?
