Took the main bonnet off my Tuscan for the first time since I got it. Noticed this - is it supposed to have this spring here (circled)?

The throttle cable had been changed just before I bought it so I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

It certainly doesn't look standard has someone had a fright with the throttle cable coming off/snapping and the throttle staying open? That looks as if it would close the throttle if the cable came away.

Just a thought, awaiting flaming wink

The technical term for that is a "Bodge"hehe
LOL - that's what I thought. What initially got my attention was the creaking noise I heard every time I pressed the gas (when the engine was off).

I took the spring off and the throttle pedal feels much smoother and lighter. I think I'll keep the spring just in case, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't doing anything important. Thanks.

Sorry to thread jack here, but on that picture you have a round circulation valve looking thing witha rubber tube coming out of it (at the end of the fuel rail) where does that rubber tube go to?? mine doesn't have one.

I think your talking about the fuel regulator at the left of the picture (below the fuel rail). Don`t worry if one ends not connected. The 2nd feed (I think its a negative feed, i.e. opposite of the positive feed into the regulator) - its not required on the Six Speed and TVR decided to put a bit of rubber hose on it (which goes back to the air box) to stop people questioning it smile

I`ve probably not used to most 'technically' correct terms but thats how it was kinda explained to me smile

yep thats the one, wasn't sure what it was

Would that be the rubber hose at the back of the air box??

if so i now have a bit of hose floating round in my engine bay as i forgot to put it back in the air box after doing the Fuse.

The one at the rear of the air box is for the map sensor wich runs inside the vehicle.
