Renewal time has seen my current premium increase despite no claims, which is a shame because i'm very pleased with their service.

I have shopped around & A Plan have come in with a very competitive quote underwritten by QBE, same conditions, excess, mileage etc.

Question is has anyone used them before to make a claim ? what was the experience like? I appreciate price is only one aspect and i'v been happy with my default choice.

Also they want for agreed valuation an independent valuation from the O/Club - so who does this at the TVRCC and is there a fee attached?

Thanks in advance

I've used A-plan for the last 3 years and had no problems at al, though my policy each time has been underwritten by Groupama.
I've also had a fault claim through them and they were great, very quick and allowed me to use the repair centre of my choice.

Yep, started with the Cerb then gave them the family bus when that came up for renewal.

Had a problem with a windscreen and they continually called to ensure it had been sorted out - very good service, which is rare.

I nearly used them, just renewed my insurance this week and I had my best quotes from A plan and MSM. It turned out that MSM were a bit cheaper though so went with them (also on the gleaming reports from Pheaders). So far I have to say they're very good but so were A Plan from the sound of things.

I've just gone with A-Plan. Never claimed so can't help but they were cheapest by some margin. Others offered to match or just undercut when they lost out but I thought A-Plan had won my business fair and square.

I know I'm a rolling advert for these guys, but if you're looking for a renewal quote, maybe give Hagerty a call. At my age I wouldn't be able to run the TVR without their premiums! (I got in last year when they were still doing under 30s...)

I've been with A Plan for the last few years but never had to claim (fingers crossed!). Always easy to deal with and very competitive. In fact, they now insure the other two cars in the household as well as I couldn't better their quote anywhere.

Another thumbup here. Insure my Griff with them, they were by far the cheapest last year and a pleasure to deal with. My cover excludes track days though so if you take your car on track, maybe they won't be for you.

I used A-Plan last year didn't claim but the price they gave was competative but went with Classicline this years as they offered the best deal (not quite the chaepest) this year. A-Plan where well over the odds on year 2.

Hagerty's are good and I used to be with them, but £900 for a supercharged 450 Chim when I'm 23 (and not on a second car policy), I thought MSM were far ahead of the competition. A plan were close though so I'd certainly consider them, as well as Hagerty's and the rest - see the TVR insurance Wiki in the general forum for a list of good companies to try - also please add any info you may have or additional companies as it will help to make everyone's lives easier come their renewal time smile

I'm with A-plan. car was written off early last year. My claim procedure would have been quicker and smoother if i had been more active in pushing the claim through. Got a good payout for the vehicle. The loan cars were not of interest to me so i got Europa consultants involved and they sorted the loan car and personal injury claim.

All-in-all a rather neutral experience. Re-insured the car with them after i got it repaired and back on the road.

As the others have said, cheaper by some margin. However, they charge a 25 quid admin fee to set their policy up, whilst this is not in addition to the price they quote, they fail to mention this until you see it on your premium breakdown documents.

I insured with A-plan for the first year with my Tuscan, and when i needed to claim they were nothing short of excellent!
Shame they couldnt match hagertys for the second and third year, but now ive got an agreed value on the tuscan with hagertys and its cheap as chips!

... that reminds me the cheeky buggers wanted £15 to change my address when I moved... they wouldn't budge on that either. redcard

I've been with A Plan for 2 years. A few weeks after I moved to them I made a claim for almost £30k which was processed without fuss. They then added my Sag as a replacement for an extra £50 a year and the renewal quote this time, despite the claim, was pretty much the same as last year and still the most competitive (Adrian Flux, the TVRCC "endorsed insurer" quoted 55% more!!).

I used A Plan for one year, because if the low premium. Problem for me was that they don't do track day insurance, so I had to trawl around to buy additional (and quite costly), one-off cover.

I now use Hegarty, we can organise additional track day cover as and when required.

Its Hagerty who i'm with & their quote isn't so competitive this year - shame good service for past 3 years and they won't budge!
