STELVIO - De Pass !

Has anyone cracked this baby in the April time frame,
what were the roads like ! guess there is still snow
around.

Anyone can advise on a great 1 week route from Calais
or anyone planning to go and we could get a crew together.

I'm actually doing the same thing. And in the process of doing some homework, I found that Stelvio is only open June - September.

And also, that its overrated.

Some guys have suggested better roads, and I'm in the process of finding them

Hi guys, I went there in October last year on the bike, Stelvio I thought was well worth a look if you are out there anyway, it is impressive, and just to say you have been there is worth it, then do a lot off the roads round about the area, there are some other passes about that are equally as good but are only suitable for the bike, too narrow for the car. Choose well and you wil not be dissapointed, cheers

I did the Stelvio in July last year. We waited until 5.45 before ascending the Italian side. It was almost empty

The evening light on the glacier at the top was spectacular. I can see how it would be disappointing earlier in the day.

I'm going on Euro trip with Track Masters http://www.track-masters.co.uk/DrivingTours.asp in early June. We're not going to Stelvio, though the route is pretty spectacular none the less. Currently mine's the only Tiv on the trip - the rest are 911's and Evo's of various types. There are still spaces if anyone's interested /m
