Perks of owning a TVR
Discussion
Been trying to find a machine shop with a surface grinder to take a couple of thou off a tappet shim, finally found some where, so went down. Showed them the shim stated the current measurement and what i wanted, they asked how quick i needed it, so said today if poss already (15:45) they said they could do it for mid day tomorrow as they had to change the wheel on the grinder etc etc. Anyway we got talking, and they asked what it was for as soon as i said TVR, there eyes opened wide, "TVR, you should have said!" 10mins later and the shim appears freshly ground to the new spec. Didnt ask for any money just that i take the car down when its back on the road.
So for what its cost me rebuilding the top its saved me a few quid by being a TVR.
If anyone wants any machining done,NS Tooling in sunny Scunny seem a good pair of guys.

Although its been a hassle i have really enjoyed doing it, i have stopped working on other peoples cars, as it was stressing me out working 40+ hours in a very stressful job, then working on other peoples Jap crap, but the tvr is different, the anticipation knowing it was quick before and thinking what its going to be like when its right, with all of the new bits on and serviced properly. Going to have a tidy up in the engine bay and do some painting too, not doing to much but it hardly left the factory the tiedist engine bay!
