Hi all,

I have just had all the wishbones and some aluminum parts on the cerb gritblasted, zinc primed and powder coated for £100 and if im not happy with them he will do them again no questions asked!

The company is called Autoblast and they are based in Findon which is north of Worthing in West sussex. If people in the Lonon-Surrey area want to use him they can drop them into me in Ashtead Surrey and I will take them down to him as I go down there most weekends.

His number is 0782806384

No I am going to be sensible about it now. I have a budget that I am going to stick to in terms of getting the car back on the road this year....however I have no idea what this budget is yet.... wink

Didnt realise you were a Sussex lad! My mum often sees your car in worthing and thinks it mine, despite mine being in bits in her garage!

Hi Mark,

Have you asked them how much it would be to grit blast a whole chassis? And then also how much it would be to then powder coat it? Or do they not have the facilities to do something that large?

Cheers

Hi james,

They can do pretty much anything. I have not asked them how much it would be to do a whole chassis. I will be seeing the chap to drop some more bits off to him on saturday so I will ask.

Excellent, hoping to have a good poke around the Cerb over the weekend (at long last) to see how bad my chassis is. Will hopefully know by Monday if I'm going to take the body off.

Picked up the parts today. Absolute first rate job and each part was neatly wrapped in bubble wrap.
The guy said if there is something wrong with them he will redo the offending bit for free.

James,

I asked about your chassis, he said he has done quite a few tubular chassis for race cars but he won't be able to give a price until he sees the state of the chassis. But to give you an idea he charges £30 an hour.

That's not a bad labour rate at all! I had a poke around the drivers side outrigger at the front today. As expected the paint was gone, and a bit of surface rust, but the metal seems really solid, just a bit of pitting. Didn't have a chance to look at the passenger side, but will definitely consider having it blasted by him now! Cheers Mark.
