Hi All,

I've noticed the silver heat shielding material has come unstuck in various places in the engine bay of my Speed Six. Can anyone suggest what type of glue would be best for bonding it back down again, and where I might get hold of it?

It occurred to me that most of the glues I can easily lay my hands on either couldn't hack the heat in the engine bay, or would possibly cause damage to the fibreglass bodywork they were sticking to.

any ideas welcome
HA

evo-stick - the old-school makes-you-dizzy stuff, not the tree hugging water based garbage.

I used some sealant from B&Q. Rated for heat and vibration. Still there after 2 1/2 years with no signs of deterioration.

A few people, me included have had success with ‘No More Nails’. Make sure you get the weatherproof exterior type. It’s been good for a couple of years now. My only concern is how I will ever get it off.

Can you still get the pre-formed heat shields or is it a DIY job with HS material from Demon Tweeks?

sorry for the thread hijack

No More Nails the tape, you will need about 5 rolls, and its double sided, it gets sticker with the heat of the engine and is very easy to put on.

Did this to my Chimaera two years back now and near dropped down since.

Easy Clean and lasts.
