why would you want to put a rocket stick in your garage? But damned socially responsible of you, we don't want any kids putting their eyes out

When I was about 12, me and Tommy Mahony got a length of lead pipe and used it to aim rockets at buses from about 50 yards away. We had little expectation of hitting one. However, the unexpected happened and the rocket went up the stairs and exploded on the top deck. It was reported in the local paper, Kentish Mercury (I was going to say 'It was in the Kentish Mercury' but I thought Hut49 would say something like, 'it must have been a small bus') and there was an appeal for witnesses! The reporter reckoned there was panic and memories of the blitz (no wonder the Germans lost if they were using 1/- rockets.)

The local policeman knew who it was and when I went to Scouts the following Friday he was there and gave me a 'clump', as he put it. It was really a punch.

Didn't do it again, though.

'Cause the buses got faster.

this happened yesterday around Holborn in central london, waiting for the lights and then heard a big bang and a small exposion near a car 5 lengths away from me. can't believe people are fooling around with fireworks and acting so irresponsibly.

In Swansea I saw kids jabbing rockets into a steep grass embankment aimed at the traffic. Lighting the blue stuff and legging it. Rockets shooting down the main road.
Edited to add
It was Oystermouth road. A rather busy 30 mph dual carriage way.

I remember a few years ago us big kids firing rockets along the road. Made two tracks up the road like "Back to the Future".

I was about 16 at the time. Was walking to the pub on Nov 5th with some friends. One of my friends was saying 'Isnt it weird how you never see the fireworks come back down and hit the ground - ouch !! What was that!?'. A dead firework hit his head.
