Just a word of warning if you have your tiv for sale, I got a persistant person emailing me yesterday wanting to send me a cheque for my Griff saying he was from Cairo, he sent me his phone number too, I checked the dialling code out +234 and it was from Nigeria. Be on your guard folks!

Since you are clearly aware that he is trying to scam you, why not waste his time for a laugh.

Let him waste his money by sending you a cheque etc

Go along with everything - give him nothing!

Scambaiting - excellent fun.

If you don't want to do it, email me his details .........

Agreed, seems you know it's a scam, have fun with it!

Worth pointing out though that the weak pound does seem to be attracting quite a few legitimate foreign buyers, but I think they'd be in Holland or Germany or somewhere.

Get the cheque made out to my dad.

If the bank are foolish enough to let him draw it all out in cash, he'll bugger off to Thailand with it and worry about the consequences when he's skint.

If the bank refuse to let him draw on it, we can inform your little Nigerian friend, that his cheque hasn't cleared and subsequently we wont be able to Western Union the money he's "overpaid" to his friend as requested.

It's a win/win situation

A few years ago I had a painting for sale on my website. I got the usual email offering me the full price and that he was owed £5k by someone in England and they would send me the cheque and could I wire the balance etc.... (The painting was £3.8k IIRC). I said no problem and sure enough a few days later a Gregory arrived on Allied Irish Bank for £5k. It looked absolutely kosher, which surprised me, so I called the bank. I got put through to a guy and I said "I have a kite which I think won't fly" and he said "is the name *********". Sure enough it was. The cheques were actually real but stolen. I emailed the guy and told him I had handed the cheque and his details to "Interpol" who were on their way to Lagos at that moment and I never heard from him again.

I have printed below our comms upto now if youre interested! email and phone numbers deleted to protect any unapparent innocence here, I've repoorted this to adverts@PH as advised on bottom of email

Yes will be leaving scene (only if it goes of course) unfortunatley due to numbers of reasons, if it wasnt for the massive amount of money I've paid to keep my sports cars on the road in the past I would still have one of them. (oh i miss my tuscan and my mazzer!)Its the garage bills they produce later on, not the initial buying of them thats the problem

Its just in the garage gathering dust on its dust cover! doesnt really justify its existence in my keep

AM FROM CARIO BUT OUT TO THE WEST TO NIGERI ON A BUSINEES TRIP OK I WAIT UNTIL IT GETS CLEARED FROM YOUR BANK OK...

Sorry,

I've noticed your dialling code is Nigerian, even though you say you are in Cairo, why is that?

I've heard lots of bad stories about Nigerian cheques not clearing properly, if you can deal thru PayPal instead that's fine, let me know, but I would also like to wait a week once any money is cleared and withdraw it first and also speak to my bank manager.

If you are ok with this please get in touch

Ok....

You would have to pay your shipping agent yourself, you can pay me digitally over the internet through a bank transfer or possibly Paypal? as that would clear quicker, but if you want to pay by cheque that is fine, just let me know and I will pass my address on, but this may take a week longer than the other methods I mention.

What is the name and details of your shipping agent?

Cheers

Paul

Hiya!
Nice approach!
Price is what you see, if you see anything about the car that's not in the
ad that could bring the price down then we would go from there. My numbers
on the ad, if you want to come and see it you call me smile oh, it's a 5.3 by
the way, don't like putting that on the ad

Cheers
Paul

Can you imagine the phone call from the British police to the Nigerian police.

BP "One of our residents has had some money stolen from them"
NP "So ?"

Phone goes dead, case closed.

They haven't got anything we need... oil, strategic launch locations, decent location for bases etc.....
They get no government support from us, so we can't threaten to withdraw anything from them.

As the meerkat says.... "simples" smile
