.....shouted by teenager yesterday. And he hasn't nicked the wheels yet. Almost re-established my faith in the youth of today.

I was at some lights in Leeds a couple of months back when a DB7 pulled up alongside. We both glanced at each others car & gave an approving nod & smile. Then a kid - must've been about 12 or so - walked across the road by us, stopped once he got past the AM and shouted "that guys TVR sounds better than your car, mister". AM driver stopped smiling. Didn't restore my faith in the youth of today, but made me laugh.

I occasionally get "nice car mate" in the Griff from the local yoofs. In my courtesy Lexus SC430, I got "loser". Fair call if you ask me.

I get lots of "nice car mate" - and I'm always very polite and appreciative back to them . .until they put the brick down . .

Got 3 undesirable looking kids approachin me when I was washing the car, thought I'd get hassle, but instead on of the nudged his mate and went:

"Look at that TVR!"

Then "That's a really nice car."

I said thanks a lot and had a chat with them for a few minuites. Each time they see me now, they wave or say hi.

It would restore my faith in the youth aside from the fact that I really am stil part of the youth and when I was driving through Hexam with minimax, so small kid shouted:

"Get a real car!" at me.

I was out driving a while ago and some "yoof" shouted 'F*cking poof' at me...???????
So I swiftly replied...."Yeah, but you can't afford my car" .....whilst smugly driving off

Started Cerbera up next to a bloke in his 2.8 Z3 in a car park.

"jeez" he says... "That thing makes mine sound like a pussy cat... nice car !"

I was going to call him a hairdresser but, then again he was being nice about the TVR, so a "cheers mate" was the reply given.

Drove down Brighton high street today... no less than six approving gestures, points and "nice cars" in the space of 500 meters. Two from young ladies - gotta make you grin

I was driving my previous TVR through Gt Dunmow in slow moving traffic, when a group of lads crossed the road between me and the car in front,
they were staring at the car, then on yoof looked up to see who was driving such "stonking set of wheels"(their words),only to let out the following exclaimation.
"Look at that!! its a fuing old geezer.
I nearly run the Basds over and hit em while they were down with me effin white stick!!!
Bah humbug!!!

I chap pulled up alongside me in a traffic jam the other week in a Z3. He looked across and complimented the car, so we had a bit of a chat until there was about 50-100 yards of room which I took full advantage of in first. He rolled up a few second later and said "Great noise. Sorry about the hairdresser's car, it's my wife's" .

I remember when the Tuscan first hit the streets. A mate of mine went to the local petrol station where he was swamped.

This teenager says "Nice car mate. They drive brilliantly don't they?"

Friend casually enquires how he knows this.

Reply: "Been driving one for the last 6 months on Gran Turismo!"

Bloody funny!

A dozen skimpily dressed 18 yr old girls just exited a stretch limo all waving and jumping up and down.

It doesn't get much better than that

Got a knowing nod from some goon cleaning his VTR the other day. Felt quite sorry for him. The letters are so close, but the car is a million miles off.

Also regularly catch a snatch of 'what the @*&$ is that' from the queues outside the clubs and pubs near the clocktower in Brighton. Worth driving through town with a little bit of window open.

roof down mate, roof down! The only problem is people try to get in with the roof down

It's great having a different car, people always want to compliment it and stuff - it's strange, but people always feel the need to comment...Moving from the ZX to the Marlin was a very surreal and bloody good fun experience - you certainly aren't anonymous anymore!
