quote in this week's auto express. To put a TVR 350c ahead of a BMW is simply wrong.I accept the beemer is a bit sanitised but there's no way anyone would choose the under-engineered TVR over the BMW.Anthony Thorpe. What a tos...er

Well, it would be unfair to give the TVR a head start!!

What BMW is there that comes anywhere near a tvr?

I know plenty of people with over engineered beemers that spend all their time in the garage, he is an ignoramus who has obviously never heard 'keep it simple stupid'?

My Beemer was so well engineered it had to have a new engine due to the ceramic bore wearing away.Never had a TVR that did that!

I've got the best of both worlds . My three-year-old niece calls ny car a "beemer" . Mind you that goes for anything without a roof.

Depends on what your selection criteria are doesn't it?!? Just like saying a Ford Galaxy is a better choice over say a 330i. Horses for courses.

BMWs are good cars in their way, so are TVRs. End of story. So a journo picked a TVR over a BMW? (I've not read the article) - well it was going to happen one day wasn't it?!?

I love this.

"simply wrong"
"no way"
"under-engineered"

Me think he protest too much ? Subconscious TVR fetish ? TVR not on the company car list ?

I guess he just hasn't met any TVR owners yet

Andy.

Oops, someone *dared* to criticise TVR and what a suprise - they get flamed.

I wonder who should be changing the record guys?

(Not that I like BMWs, 'cos I don't)

There's enough criticism of TVRs on here from owners and they don't get flamed. The reason he get's flamed is that 'he' is a new user with only a few posts, making derogatory remarks with nothing to back them up. If he posted saying "Beemers don't leak like my 420SEAC does so therefore they are better", we might post a more reasoned reply. But he didn't.

Like what's already been said: TROLL. Spot it, deal with it, move on.

Sorry smiffy, but the constant 'reliability' thing wears a bit thin from the uninformed but to hear it from a supposed journo is frankly irritating and churlish

I thought they popped up when you tried to cross the bridge and demanded a fee, bit like the severn bridge.

Mind you they have to eat, maybe they do the goat thing for fun.

Yeah fair play. At least I've been there and done that so I'm allowed to chuck rocks

I like this "troll" stuff though. Maybe it's time to go visit horse and hound again.
