I am considering having a look at a tvr at the dealer dream machines. Not sure if it is done to ask for feedback on the dealers reputation but asking it anyway. If that is not okay let me know

thx

Naming and shaming is not allowed on PH, but I'm sure people who've had a really bad experience will PM you if that's the case. Positive feedback is fine on here.

I had a few (servicing-related) dealings with them when I owned my Griff and found them to be fine. This was around 5 or 6 years ago.

I've purchased a car from them and have also used their services and have found them a great company to deal with and I have never had any problems or issues with their service. The sales guy 'Josh' is a decent and bloke and is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the cars that they sell.

I just missed out on a car from them when I was first buying in 2004 and have used them for odds and sods of intermediate issues and they have been fine but their servicing charges were still sufficiently higher than Fernies to have stuck with them for my annual service even though DM are 20mins away and Fernies 1½ hours.

DM have helped me out when stuck (snapped Stepper and knackered clutch master cylinder)at very short notice and have been very good.

My only gripe was with sales when you could be stood around like a prat waiting for someone to turn up and look after you - may have been improved now.

One good story - had some chassis painting and Waxoyling and when i got the car home I found a socket in the tunnel tray.
I took it back saying they had left it behind and they put it on the shelf in the service reception.
roll on 5 months and Fernies asked me where my locking wheel nut socket was - cue huge panic until I remembered that socket - called DM and it was still sitting on their shelf thank god. Haven't a clue what I would have done if it had been thrown away- probably would have had to angle grind the wheel off!!.

I bought my car from them with minimal fuss, it was a straight forward sale so nothing exceptional to note. I also took the car back under warranty and the work i needed done was done with no questions asked. No complaints here.
