You might not have noticed, but most people have just had a holiday, and also, the post has been a little bit busy.

Or do you think the Sprint fairy magics it up on the first of each month?

No worries Dicky. Not taken as such. Was spending a few mins on PH whilst contemplating working after lunch so I thought I would update. Right, back to a hot edit suite

Or you could put any imagined "rudeness" down to me being one of the people who now knows what goes in to producing Sprint each month, and getting a little bit tired of seeing this same topic in the first week of every bleeding month.

But especially at Christmas! Jees. rolleyes

(I would advise you not to visit the P&P or SP&L on this forum if you're that sensitive, BTW)

Not sensitive at all old chap....I can hold my own.
The guy was asking a polite question and you were rude and out of order. End of.

If you're getting a little tired (ie sensitive) I suggest you follow your own advice. smile

I try not to be negative but I would prefer to be a member of the TVROC at a slightly lesser rate and not get sprint. There is nothing in there that I do not think should be distributed electronically, the owners club just needs to turn its printed sponsership into online sponsership.

I always look forward to receiving the Sprint Magazine but am always disappointed with it when it arrives and struggle to find the enthusiasm to read it and just flick through the pages.

I don't know what I,m expecting but it just don't seem to do anything for me. Would be interesting to know how many people feel this way, TVRcc would do well to stop printing it and send out emails of the articles instead, including advertising etc.

Anway, thats just my opinion!

I myself have no interest in the racing reports, which is what the majority of indepth articles seem to be about. I would prefer to see more modification/restoration articles. E.g. there are lots of people stripping and rebuilding suspension assemblies including myself and to see a write up or interview with someone that has already done it would be interesting. I think the classifieds would also work better if they had pictures.

But really I think the place to comment is over on the TVRCC site. I would however miss the magazine if it was not there and I also presume it does provide a much needed revenue stream for the club.

You can't be all things to all men I'm afriad and Mandy has to print what is supplied and/or current.

Remember that the magazine content is produced by volunteers who have other fulltime jobs and you'd be amazed at just how long it takes to compile and write articles and indeed think of subjects.

Mandy is always looking for articles so if anyone has written something then she'd love to see it.

If it's model specific then send it to one of the model editors and they'll champion it and/or help you write it.

How about on the TVRCC website a little corner of it dedicated to a monthly message estimating the expected arrival date of Sprint, then if its Xmas or they expect other problems getting it out on time people know when to expect it.

For normal months it "should" remain the same delivery date barring your lazy postie.

I've no problem with Sprint and the price I pay for it as part of my membership. Let's face it it's less than a price of a tank of fuel!

Not all the articles are going to be interesting to everyone, but it's hardly expensive for a magazine dedicated to the marque of cars we love (and cost us a lot to keep on the road) is it? If the club did a non-Sprint membership I doubt it would be much cheaper. Remember the magazine is not just a print cost, it's a layout cost and advertising income. You'd have the layout cost even with an electronic Sprint. It can cost a lot more to put publications together than it does to print them.

Given the choice I'd be happy to pay more and get a bigger Sprint smile. For me all the websites and forums are great but I still look forward to my TVR monthly magazine.

Tony

PS. I think the problem with the motorsport stuff is that as it covers a limited number of cars we seem to get pictures and write ups that look pretty similar each month. There are of course TVRs competing in other mixed marque championships (eg HSCC), but these rarely get covered which is a shame. It's probably because no one sends anything in though.
