D.I.Y. Maintenence?

Forgive me if this has been discussed in a previous posting, was wondering how many of you do your own repairs and maintenance to cut the costs of using main dealers. How much is accessible to a competent mechanic, particularly engine wise.
As a classic car owner for some years now I am no stranger to doing a lot of the oily stuff myself - recently carried out top end re-build of my Triumph TR6 engine. What I'm particularly interested how many people have carried out repairs & maintenance themsevels on the Speed 6 engines.

By some accounts, a lot, mostly in either main dealers or Blackpool

IIRC all engine work on the speed 6 has to be carried out by TVR themselves,they dont release the parts so you're stuck

Somebody please correct me
