It's still all up in the air as to what's happening but David Oxley has retired.
So will anyone who might have placed a deposit on a "new" Sagaris for delivery in "Q! 2009" be receiving a car ?As an aside that deposit thing was nothing to do with TVR it was the dealer acting on their own.
I'd be surprised if anyone did but they are refundable I believe.

As an aside why would a dealer go out on a limb ?
Without getting into an arguement (which I'm sure you're after) what worries you about the statement you refer to and to what lack of balance and perspective are you referring? I've not seen anything in Sprint other than reporting of facts as given and seen. There has been plenty of speculation and rumour recently but Sprint has not entered into that.
Why would a dealer go out on a limb? I don't know, why don't you call them and ask?

I will just point out two things: the factual mistakes made on what was new and the overlooking that it was an old customers carWhy would a dealer go out on a limb? I don't know, why don't you call them and ask?
As to the latter I thought it was my duty to report that to Trading Standards and the page offering that no longer exists
most people knew this was one of the last customer cars made on the line, in the special order VW green and was due to go to Netherlands (or Belgium, can't remember). I can't believe that Sprint didn't know this yet they failed to mention it in the article and also went along with the spin that this was a 'new' car with al lthe 'new' modifications, signalling some sort of new dawn for TVR. And look where we (still) are today.
This was someone's car that they had put a deposit on, yet TVR, and Sprint to some extent, failed to recognise this and treated it all as a bad game. I did think the article went along a bit too much with the line Oxley et al were towing and did itself no favours in the process.

1) what the dealership have done is a real clever idea. You put up a refundable deposit scheme for a car that may or may not turn up. Its win win in their book. Worse case they sit on a ton of cash make interest on it and then hand the original sums back. Best case new car comes out and they make bomb selling them to new owners as well as making interest on the sum.
2) I think in regards to the "Mk 2" Saggy it was out of TVR's hands. As soon as they went into administration the creditors owned the assessts and so they owned that car not the poor chap who put a deposit down. Sadly all the big firms and names get their money back and the general public are left out to dry.

Umm... Not really. The "ceditors" were N Smolenski. He owned the company before and he owned the company after, he could have honoured the Belgian customers order and delivered his car to him. The fact that he didn't and that car was subsequently paraded as something in some way "new" tells you everything you need to know. unrepentant said:
