hi all just wondering what people are planning while we sit out winter (although damn fine tiv weather today) this will be my first proper winter period with the tuscan as last year it was up on a lift as jc's with the engine in bits!! first thing needs doing is as its now done 1100 miles since rebuild is to have its service, im thinking about getting rid of the factory shocks while there, any ideas as to brand (dont really have time for track days) my list includes the following:-
1 replace battery and check all connections to anderson socket
2 deep clean of interior, seats and carpet
3 good clean of engine bay (i know you cant see it but i know its dirty)
4 clean and check of chasis
i also wonder about the front tyres, they are factory original toyo but are now 8 yrs old (still loads of tread as only covered 11000 miles from new) no signs of cracking etc but how old before you would feel they should be changed?
i dont want to do anything that would mean she is not usable as we do have lovley dry (but cold) days over winter.
what other jobs would you recomend i get done?

I drive my seac more in the winter than ' summer ' , partly because its drier , and slightly cooler too .

I'll be fixing the heating. Weather has been so nice recently that I've spent any spare time I have driving it!!

I'll be de-catting my Tuscan and getting a pair of CCC's to start with. Got a slight dent in a Alloy so getting that repaired as well, not sure after that, will see what mood i'm in and what I decide doesn't really need changed but will be done anyway.

providing I remain employed and have any money left over after the mortgage, the biggest priority is getting the Griff back on the road. Its only been a couple of years since I started those few little jobs. Just got to re-assemble the engine, finish painting the chassis and sort the dash / electrics now, and I'm sorted.....

After this, it would be good to sort the 4 post lift that recently seems to have arrived. Just need to move the Griff to get it in the garage.

Both the range rovers need TLC ( especialy the off roader ), and the Scooby is due a service.

The house extension is so so close to being finished, and it would be nice to be in by Christmas ( this year )

Mrs Dunc, and both the little Duncs want a few more hours a day out of me, and so does my boss.

Other than, a quiet winter really ( Have I bitten off more than I can chew? )

If you're doing the wishbone bushes knock yourself up one of these, it makes it a doddle yes

There's even some rubbish dimensioning for it now paperbag I'm going to ask in the P&P to see if someone's got a CAD package and would draw it up properly!

I'm glad you said that as that was my plan biggrin along with a short article on how to use it (technique matters!)

It's bloody handy as you can do the rear upright bushes (or any of them for that matter) in situ without undoing the large hub nut!

If I have any money left after buying and winterproofing my Elise, I have only a few things for the Griff seeing as it's already had it's fair share of upgrades this year which have been:

Gaz Gold
17" & 18" Wheels and Tyres
New Steering UJs
HID Lights
LED instrument bulbs
New Clutch Assembly
New Poly Diff Bushes
Mew Magnecore leads, and extendedrs

So I think it may have had it's fair share of money. But I plan to:

Give the interior a good clean. Pull out the seats etc.

Fluid changes.

Geo set up from ummm.. someone goood.

New headlighs as the metal cap that goes over the bulb has falen off on one of mine.

Clear indicators

Smoked rear lights.

Maybe Omex, but after purchasing and modifying an Elise I think I may be dreaming.
