Tried posting this on the Griff forum but have had no response so if anyone here can help, I'd be grateful.

I have a 97 Griff 500 and need a wiring diagram for it. I have the Griff/Chim bible 2nd edition but unfortunately the diagram in there is for a pre pot heater control for the centre console and that's the bit I need to know about.

Wiring digs don't seem to find their way into customers' hands. Your best bet might be to ask to have a quick word with a mechanic at a friendly dealership. I've been helped out a few times like that.

ATG,
I've tried that with my dealer and whilst they were quite happy to phone up the factory, the factory (like you said) would not give any info re the diagram. Is it worth trying another dealer, if so any suggestions?

sounds familiar. There is bugger all chance of laying your hands on a proper wiring diagram. I've tended to ask people who've done work on the car (Walldonway used to service the Chim when I was in Kent, and Broughtons did a big repair job a few months ago) or while buying some parts from The TVR Centre in Barnet. If you say "Hi, I'm X and I gave you a grand last month, I was wondering if I could pinch 5 mins of your mechanics time" receptionist/manager usually gets out of the way, and the mechanics seem quite flattered to have their advice sought and are happy to talk. Who normally services your car?

ATG,
TVR C Barnet! They've been very helpful, well the bloke in the parts dept. has but usually just calls Blackpool

Danny,
Looks like he did as the diag has TVR Eng. written on it.

Small world. I bought a throttle cable from them in person a couple of months ago and popped into the workshop to see if there were any useful tips for fitting the thing coz it's a bit awkward (particularly when some gimp has used araldite to glue the bastard into the accelerator pedal). May be going up thre again in the near future coz the bloody fuel pump doesn't cut in with the ignition. Am hoping the relay is fubar.

Very small world, I got my throttle cable from there as well (after virtually giving up from all other sources). The parts guy's name was Keith if I remember correctly - and yes he was very helpful.

Joolz - what is the problem you are trying to trace?

Unfortunately it's not so local for me so a bit tricky to just pop in. Might try the phone approach again.

Danny,
Sorry missed your previous post (I'll post this just incase anybody else has had a similar problem). The problem I'm getting is to do with the centre console controls. I ordered up a new PCB (Keith will know about this) just incase there was a problem there but it hasn't been resolved. I reconnected the fuse and it blew one of the pots on the control console, got some new ones and the same thing happened.

To cut a long story short, a bloke at work who's an ex electronic wiz has offered to help find out what's wrong with it but has said that he'd need to see what's where and what it's doing hence the wiring diagram. What I need to know is how it works, what's connected to what and the components involved in making it work, also any idea of what's blowing up the low power pot. if it's shorting etc?

Boring myself now...

cheers
