Has anyone had any bad experiances with rad weld/
I have a small leak in my rad I think.
Comments would help me make up my mind to replace the radiator or use Rad weld.

Never used it on my Tiv, but never had any problems with it either (Caterham 7, Sierra Cosworth, and several Austin Metro's!)...what have you got to lose - just keep a close eye on your rad and coolant level.

It's very useful stop-gap. Don't expect it to work forever, though.

Just make sure once you get all the RadWeld or Barrs Leaks into the rad you then run it up to temperature and keep it there for a good few minutes. If you don't it doesn't disperse that well and just seems to sit under the rad. cap.

What's it on? Personal choice (and I have done it on my older wedge) is to get it repaired. Make me feel happier that there is no leaks.
How does rad weld work anyway?

I used radweld on a Toyota MR2 a couple of years ago. It cured several holes in a rusty feed pipe that was very difficult to get to and replace. It was meant to be a temporary repair to get me by until I could get the time to replace the pipe but it was so effective that it never leaked again and I forgot all about the problem. I guess that as new pinholes appeared it just kept on mending them!!
It certainly didn't cause any problems like overheating or blockages etc.
