Well its coming up towards winter time and I am planning on putting the T350 into the garage, so decided to go on the hunt for a cheap car for that time, and possibly something to keep after and turn into a track sg!

So decided on a Clio 172, high milage, but got it quite cheap. I bought it from a garage, and it came with a 3 month warranty so thought i'll try using it as much as possible to see if there are any parts etc needing sorted.

After using it for a couple of days I was thinking 'This is pretty good, wonder if I should just sell the TVR and keep this?'. Its quick, chuckable, fun, etc..

BUT! I decided to go out for a spin in the TVR last night and what a difference! I couldnt stop smiling! Just awesome! Its just so different. I guess I was getting used to it, but then as I was getting used to driving the clio, it made the TVR feel oh so special all over again! biggrin

So plan is still to run the clio over winter, then strip it and make it into a track weapon!

i work at renault, nd i have working on these for 3 yers now, brilliant little cars.
As for reliability they are really good. But one word of warning, make sure the lternator belt has been changed (~interval's are 36k miles and they do break nd go in the cam belt) and make sure the timing belt kit has been replace, belt and all rollers, 72k miles or 5 years, again these will let go. i have just rebuilt 2 engines on these for the exact same reason.
Other than that they are great, throw it into a corner and say hello to lift off overstear! love the black wheels on it too
