Has anyone else noticed that the price of Super Unleaded petrol is about 10p per litre more than normal unleaded.

The only exception to this is Shell Optimax which is about 5p per litre more than normal unleaded. Another good reason to use optimax. My Chimaera 500 also runs a lot better on it than other brands of super unleaded.

It seems that some petrol companies are taking advantage over us and haven't been reducing the price of super unleaded as quickly as normal unleaded.

My local Texarseco garage said that the chancellor had recently ended tax incentives on super unleaded, which is why it was a whopping 13p more than their unleaded per litre.

I pointed out that I could go a few miles up the road and get higher quality petrol for 8p a litre less and they seemed unconcerned. Prices aren't set in the individual stations though, so...

Does make me fume though.

Don't forget that Optimax is new and they're trying to get people to use it.
Expect the price to start rising in the future........
Cheers...... Andrew
