Due to a slightly random discussion earlier today, I need to know what a modern TVR key looks like. Are they a Ford based item, like Noble use, or is it more a slightly odd looking thing like Ferrari keys, or something else all together? I've tried Google, but could only come up with a TVR key fob.

Depends on which one you mean, they changed from the Chim to the Cerb to the Tuscan to the Sag. And you could also have an aftermarket one.

Ok then, just for arguments sake lets make it a sag key.
If the cerb doesn't have a key, does it just work on the immobiliser key fob thingy? IE disarm it get in, push the go button and away you go? I've not yet had the pleasure of driving one, so I'm unsure of the start up procedure.

Nope! Just having a random chat with a mate earlier who asked what the key of a cerb/modern TVR looked like, and since I'm planning on buying one soon, I thought it best to find out. Nowt sinister I'm afraid!

So am I to assume the cars left the factory with keys, but some remove/replace them with remote entry/start set ups?

But some keys you don't take in and out every time!

It's not what people think of as an ignition key - is it?

I didn't say it was an ignition key, just commenting that a cerbera does have a key.

However as you will know the one I was refering to is a metal key which prevents the ignition being fired up with the remote fob. So it could be seen as an ignition key, but I would agree with you it's not what people would think of as an ignition key.

Wedge keys (1985 390 SE) are a Ford key for the door locks and a Rover key for the ignition.

Also a small cabinet key for the glove-box.

The Griff (ignition) key looks like the one I used to have years ago for a Vauxhall SRi. In fact, as I think most of the steering cowl comes from a Vauxhall, probably is. There isn't a door key. See numerous threads, usually starting "Help".
