Well, it's that time of year again and I received a renewal quite for my insurance. I'd like to do some shopping around to see if I can get a better proce.

Who do you insure your TVR through (I have a Sagaris). I am am member of the TVRCC, will the do me any favours with some companies?

TIA

Hooio

Have had very good quotes from Elephant and Admiral with the Chim.

Always worth a go!

Remember to actually go to the websites and fill in the forms manually. Doing it with Confused or such does actually increase the premium slightly! - Suppose it is your time vrs cost issue

A-Plan are good for me, when the renewal comes in I give them a buzz, whinge, and hey knock off another £70 or so.

Yet (fingers crossed) to make a claim, but seem to be a helpful crowd; switched my daily driver over to them as well - which they quoted over the Cerb (!) laughed and took a couple of hundred off after making a few calls.

I guess the premium is pretty irrelevant compared to how they perform when you claim though.

A plan were good for me too, quoted me alot more than hagerty but their policy was restricted use etc so when a plan thought i was going else where they matched the quote so now i can drive to work or anywhere i wish for the same price,it was £200 difference that they matched.

kev.

Last couple of years i've used elephant. When shopping round i found that even some TVR specialists could not match their quote.

Similar here although the exact over or under £300 will be dependent upon postcode and other small variables.

Mannings offer the same cover and include TVRCC Trackday cover (no value to me) but at somewhat more. With Hegarty it can be added on as an when needed for extra premium.

I have been insured with both and whilst (thankfully!) haven't had to make a claim, both brokers seem offer outstanding personal service on the telephone. No call centres, calls are answered quickly and you speak to the same helpful person you spoke to last time.

One thing to note, neither the policy offered by Hegarty or by Mannings include "Driving Other Cars", which is usually included in more mainstream policies and makes it at least legal with TP cover to drive a car not belonging to you which is insured separately but with named drivers only.

My Hegarty insurance allows me to drive any other car as long as it is also insured with hegarty. This cover is within my own insurance and covers the other vehicle at the same level of cover as my car. It doesn't allow me to drive any car not insured with Hegarty though
