Once upon a time there was a little company that made funny little sports cars that looked like bathtubs, and had an assortment of mechanical doobries in them. Many and varied were they, and they attracted many young men.

Then the little company produced two cars which propelled them to fame and fortune; powered by the Rover V8, the second wave had arrived.

Factions arose, and many "us and them battles" ensued. "Proper" TVR drivers scorned the newcomers in their fancy modern cars. A car club was formed to keep the kiddies in their place, and the high and mighty of the club knew the righteousness of the "proper" TVR.

Time passed. The T-cars arrived, the third wave of TVR's. History repeats, factions form. Who will win the moral high ground? The dirty finger mob with their "proper" TVR's? The serpentine set, by weight of numbers? Or the T-car trendies whose cars are "newer and better".

Who cares? A TVR is a TVR! And may the arguments last as long as the pints keep flowing!

Phil,

Excellent observation - who would have thought that a combination of metal, fibreglass and other man-made subsances could provoke such emotional responses...

It is just a car after all (ducks for cover!)..... or is it a living thing?

Cheers,

Paul

I agree with the sentiment, but I'd say the current cars are more 'seventh wave' than 'third wave'. This is TVR's 55th year and they have produced many chassis/body combinations in that time. Let's hope we're still here to comment on the 'tenth wave' of cars in 20 years time..
