No idea on the T350, but I always use epoxy for repairs on my Griff. I tried polyester and it didn't work, whereas the epoxy is fine - so I assume the Griff is epoxy.

One thing you can guarantee is that it wont be fire retardant resin! More expensive, harder to work with... You would think it would be legislated that motor vehicles use fire retardant resin? rolleyes

Why?
Is that the same as Fire retardant steel?

Sorry but the seat of a motorcar fire generally starts with oil or petrol, then burns through lines and then inferno. The resin that the car is laminated with will make absolutely no difference to the catastrophic end result.

hunderesds of steel bodied cars erupt everyday, they are scrapped along with all the others.

No idea on the answer but do know from model flying days that epoxy doesn't bond to polyester reliably...

Handy website: http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/

BTW the lightweight 350s were made using the stronger and lighter woven matting instead of the chopped strand stuff.

IIRC it was possible to order a special lightweight body shell of some models. I think these may have used a different resin that saved weight as well as being thinner.

So what a car is made of depends upon original specification.

I'm 99% certian that they will be ordinary polyester resin - the older TVRs were. It used to be one of the Scott Bader "crystic" resins back in the mid-90s anyway.

Polyester will bond to polyester but you'd need to thoroughly abrade the polyester. A better bond will be achieved with epoxy but once the epoxy has set, further work with polyester won't stick to it.
