Whatever you do, try to get an agreed value on your car.

Mine lapsed & my (well known) specialist insurance company is trying to bankrupt me at the moment with their pathetic offer cry

'nuff said for now.

I tried Mannings the TVRCC special.
Never replied!

So tried Confused.com.

Tesco came up cheapest, but the AA had a very good spec.

In the end I stayed with NU + my broker spec' legal assist package.
Not the cheapest but good spec and European breakdown recovery throw in!

If you just want cheapest the only way is to shop around - no one company offers the best price for all drivers/cars/locations/circumstances.
We ought to have a list of all those worth trying.

  • Adrian Flux
  • Mannings
  • Haggerty
  • Heritage
Please add any worthwhile suggestions - maybe we could make it a sticky wiki once we have a decent number.

Haggerty seem to be very competitive when garaged, low miles and non commute. Not quite the same if you remove any these factors.

I got a good deal with Admiral and their multicar policy.

£660 for the Tuscan and my Vectra which I can't complain about since Tesco wanted about £1300 for both.

I've never had a problem getting hold of Mannings. Think they're always pciked up when I've called. Maybe I've been lucky.

A Plan were cheapest at £400. Tuscan S, 49 with GF 30. Followed closely by Classic Line Insurance.

A Plan have been cheapest for 2 years running.

Agreed value is an absolute must, if this is not in place when you insure your TVR and there is a total loss situation you will be very surprised how low their book value is.Cheapest is not always the best of cover nono

Is that like a SP30 but just a hell of a lot more expensive? wink

ClassicLine are the cheapest and best for me (trackday cover included and agreed value insurance) but it does depend on age of car and mileage etc.

Another vote for Haggerty.

3rd year running I've insured the Wedge with them; £168, 3K pa, European cover included, breakdown included. It'd be rude not to.
