Is there any ex-factory guru's out there that have the capabilities to re-produce the bodies for our beloved TVR's? I'm not thinking necessarily main-stream bodies, I was specifically thinking about a Typhon body.

There seems to be more and more Tuscan racers with Sag bodies on, and I just wondered about bolting a Typhon body on - to be a bit different.

John Ried of Riedman Racing has a few moulds (and the rights to use them), but I have a feeling it might just be Tuscan Challenge stuff he has. Be worth asking though, as he might know someone who would have the right kit.

Blackpool Motor Company employ the former mould makers and are able to produce factory standard panels and new designs.

Believe me, it won't just 'bolt on'. There would be a huge amount of work to do just to make the body sit on the chassis. The end result would be nice - although it would be cheaper to have bought the T400R race car that was advertsied a while back.

Not forgetting Surface and Design who also turn out high quality work and designs with probably the best EX TVR moulding and speraying staff.

(No I'm not on commission)

Cheaper to buy the T400R? eek Wasn't that up for 80k?

I didn't really mean just bolt on, I can appreciate there's a fair bit of work involved, but to someone that is considering doing it with a Sag body, surely the principle must be the same for a Typhon?

I could have bought one of the T400s that was for sale for less money than it cost to build my AJP engined Sagaris racer. Its amazing how all those bits and pieces add up....

....but yes, you are of course right. It would be the same work to put a Typhon, Tuscan 2, Tamora, T350 body on as it was a Sagaris.

But then from what I hear, your AJP Sag is a lot better than a T400 thumbup

one of them went for a fair chunk of wedge less than 80k...

T400 shell on a tuscan Chall chassis would be a real pita as the wheelbase longer than all the tivs other than the cerb which is longer

There's a fiari bit of work to get standard TVR panels/original bodies to fit on chassis the moulds were so worn out.

I have no idea if it's true or not but I heard that each Cerb was taking around 200 man hours to sort when it came out of the moulds as they were so worn/old.

Sag/T350/Tuscan/tuscan R/T400/Tam were all made on the same jigs.
I don't think it would be that bad a job.
A mock up of Tuscan road car on Tuscan Challenge chassis was done at the Factory a few years ago and it all looked ok.
Also as T400 front end comes off as one it would save some work that has to be done to other TVRs

Not sure on that - I was referring to the work required to the interior of the car to make it sit on a chassis that has a different height transmission tunnel and rear deck and differently shaped engine bay. I ended up cutting almost everything out expect the internal sills and remaking it.
