Wot he said smile

They're not perfect, but better than the rest.

Although I did it once or twice, new born/tiny baby in a forward facing start in a Cerb is rather a worry and all very tight. Once the baby is big enough to go in the Start (with front cusion) and go on the back seats the worry eases some smile

Do a search in the Cerb forum for 'Baby Seats' and/or 'Recarro Start' as there are quite a few threads on the subject smile

We've got the TVR seat made specially for the Cerbera. It's grey and never been in an accident.

Give us a shout if you're interested. smile

Babys and Cerbs are a no no IMHO. Their hearing will be impacted. The fwd facing seat is no good until 1 or 2 yrs old. The rear facing seat will be shoved in the front meaning little room in the back for an adult (unless a midget). The baby seat in the front will not be safe in an accident. IMHO

We have a TVR baby seat (thanks Dave), and there isn't much room but it works well for us, the passenger seat needs to be quite well forward. Our girl is no longer a 'baby' I guess (2.5 yrs old) but she sleeps in the car with her head on the restraint cushion! the noise doesn't bother her now. One thing we did find is that at first you have to be careful because the noise made her cry!

Just in case you were interested, RUSSELLM's car is a v.nice example.
I was contemplating a cerb again, Russ met me at TVR Power, let me drive his car and we even went for a pint & burger afterwards.
Great condition car, decent chap and has the baby seat bar !!
Russell ... 1% commission is my fee !!! ha ha ;-)

Hi,

if your baby is younger than 9 month you have to fix it on the front passanger seat. The other way on the pic is not recommened!!

if your baby is older than 9 month / 9 kg a Recaro Start on the back seat works fine. Other babyseats for the backseats are to big to fix.

Our baby love to drive in the Cerbera.

Cheers

Johannes

I've tried all the various options and come to the conclusion that no baby seat - i.e. pre-12 months is really safe, and having tried both the Recaro Start and the TVR custom made jobbie, neither offer more protection than a simple cushion on the seat (IMO both position the lap part of the belt too low.

Now I've also got the perfect opportunity to post a pic of my 3yr old (slightly younger when the pic was taken), showing a perfectly fitting belt.

WARNING - we had to discover this the hard way. Whatever solution you decide to use, you need to put some padding on the retaining bolt for the front passenger seatbelt. As standard its just a plastic cap over a solid metal bolt to the cage exactly at toddler temple height. My LO hit her head quite hard just going over a pot hole. I don't want to think about the consequences in a side impact accident.
