You could ask the people who do the servicing for you to do it. If that isn't Tower View, then you could ask them instead. Either way should ensure you get a TVR-friendly MOT.

That's the problem Peter - I get servicing done in Surrey and while it seems worth the drive for honest and reliable maintenance I'm kind of reluctant to go all that way for an MOT.

By the way, how's your trophy? Sorry you weren't there to collect it just before Christmas...

It depends what you mean as 'friendly', Is there part of the test you are worried about? I know of a place in Hitchin who may be helpful if that's not to far away.They are a small garage but used to run a car in the Tuscan Challenge. If you need details email me at [e-mail]

I was in exactly the same position, I keep my car in Herts. but get it serviced in Surrey.

After a couple of posts here and some phoning around I ran out of time and took it to a Lucas Autocentre in Welwyn Garden City (they could do it at short notice).

The guy I left the keys with looked about 15! but he knew how to open the doors which I thought was a good sign (!!). The guy taking the details could not get his head around 4.5 litres though & had to copy it from the registration details.....

I went and had a coffee (rather than get stressed watching) and came back half an hour later. All done, no scratches or other damage & alot of admiring comments.

Not sure what the new owners are like but the garage that is in Lemsford Lane in Welwyn Garden City have done my 450SE 4 out of 5 years (other time was Tower View). They have also done odd-jobs on it as well (eg welding exhaust etc). As I said, the place has recently reopened with new owners so can't vouch for them but may be worth a go. Servicing and anything else is obviously done by Tower View.

By friendly, I just mean somewhere where you know the car won't need a 25 mile road test...
