JUST A WARNING THERE IS A GUY IN EXETER WHO IS SELLING A RACE TUSCAN IN PARTS. I WENT 240 MILES TO BUY THIS CAR THE GUY NEVER TURNED UP AND THE ONLY PART I SAW WAS A BADLY SMASHED BONNET.I KNOW ONE OTHER PERSON WHO HAS ALSO TRIED TO BUY PARTS OFF THIS GUY WITH OUT ANY SUCCESS. THERE SEEMS SOMTHING VERY STRANGE ABOUT THIS WHOLE DEAL SO BEWARE

Ah, the perils of buying a race Tuscan.....

Watch this space

Seriously beritz - mail me offline [wball@wweb.co.uk] in case there's a connection, however remote, with my little 'problem'.

Likewise, on the Tuscan front this link may also be of some interest to some ph.ers to save them the trouble I went to

www.MyTuscanChallenge.com

The site's not long up, so maybe still propagating across the net. If you don't get it today, it should be OK by tomorrow.

I know Ted's not keen on using the forums for naming and shaming, so no comments or names in this thread from me - make your own minds up if you choose to visit. And if you wish to make others aware of the site's existance, then that's fine by me

Blimey William

You sir have the patience of an absolute saint!

Hope you get it all rectified, sadly this is just another reason to add to the list of why not to use them anymore...

I don't know how a dealer can even think about getting away with this. You have the adds, stating road legal and registered. It appears that it is not. So straightforward call to trading standards I would think. Plus a mention to TVR?

Very sorry tale, a lesson to all is, never pay your full balance until you are completly satisfied with the transaction, a small holding deposit will be enough to secure the deal the balance AND p/x should only be handed over on delivery. My advise is to take them up on the offer of money and Cerby back and cut your loses i hope it all works out for you Tony(sales manager/motor trade 12yrs)

Rod from Hawthorns has a Tuscan racer for sale. I know the history and the car is v.good. The car has always been with Colin Blower from new.

They seem to have gone from bad to worse over the years.. I recall going in there to buy a 350i in around 1992 - subsequently discovered it had been used by thieves to bust through the glass/fencing in an attempt to steel the other cars - was repaired (believed outside of insurance) and allegedly sold to an unsuspecting buyer! Seems dealers can get away with murder ( www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=2&f=12&t=10492&h=0&hw=ringed ) William - I don't know how you are so patient - the Tuscan may be worth it in the end but I would get seriously legal... or get the Cerbera back (as per T88CAN) and hope to find a replacement in the future. Best of luck either way.
