Obviously a 'template' letter - I particularly thought 12. Have you a hardtop? was funny - especially if scamming TVR/Lotus owners - not very clever if you're trying to scam a Cerbera owner? rolleyes

Anyone else had something similar?

"Hello,

I am a french buyer who search a TVR Cerbera, because the importation in France is easier than other models.

In France is very very difficult to find a TVR or a Lotus (very high price, car for the track, only few models for sale.).

My budget is max 14 000 pounds, and search a car in very good condition (in A1 condition) (for the paint, the engine, the seats.), so I'm interesting by your car.

The usage of the car is in second car for the week-end and few road trips with friends (Mans; Magny-Cours.) for approximately 5 000 miles per year.

I have several questions:
. 1) How long time have you this car? How many owners for this car? Who is the first owner?
. 2) Where and who made the maintenance? A garage of dealer/a specialist?
. 3) What is the usage of this car (track; week-end; an every day car.)?
. 4) The car has an accident or a crash (HPI documents)? The car has stone chips or cracks in the paintwork? The car has its original color?
. 5) The car has modifications/Upgrades? What modifications/Upgrades?
. 6) Can you sent me by Email the service history (Full Service History?)? Have you the original invoice and the original books?
. 7) The tyres are recent? The brakes/suspensions are recent? The chassis is in good condition? The leather is in good condition? The cambelt has been changed?
. 8) The oil and scheduled maintenance are recent?
. 9) Have you mechanical problem with the car (oil; water consumption).
. 10) Can you give more details on the car? MOT ok (The date? And have you the old MOT?). The car is garaged?
. 11) Can I have a photo of the Vehicle Identification Number and of the engine number? (This is to verify the homologation in France - the registration in France)
. 12) The car is wash and polish regularly (interior-exterior)? Have you a Hardtop? Have you other parts?
. 13) Have you other photos or videos of the cars in details? (Engine; seats; doors; chassis; n° identification; service history; receipts.)
. 14) If you have any precisions or other informations to communicate about the car, don't hesitate.

Thank you very much."

Does sound like a genuine enquiry rather than a scam tbh.

The hardtop bit is hehe though, I'll give you that.

If I'm that interested in a car, I'll call anyway. If you don't state a phone number in your ad, though... I'll probably move on to the next one if you're not very local to me.
