Does anybody have a CAD drawing (preferably Auto CAD) of the TVR T400R or know where I can get hold of one ? The exact dimensions and drawings will help as well, thank you.

Unfortunately someone at TVR dropped the etch-a-sketch the car was designed on and destroyed the plans.

I guess the only one is (C) TVR and they're not about to send it out to everyone who wants one...

I'm intrigued to know why you would need this Hansgerd? Do you have other TVR Cad plans?

Work still uses autocad a bit, but you wouldn't believe how much they have to pay the contract draftsmen to drive the CADS5 system though.
No2 son uses Z-modeler which I must say is quiet impressive, considering most of the time a couple of phots is all he needs to get started.

Whatever your company's paying contract draughtsmen it's not enough!!!! That's why we end up tax exiles working in mainland Europe to fund our Petrolhead lifestyle.
Agree that Acad/Microstation is outdated. TVR would probably use Catia anyway. It's the DB's

You really need to try Pro/Engineer.
I tried getting V8S detailed drawings from TVR but it fell on deaf ears.

Most of 'em.

Solid edge, solid works, Catia, unigraphics, I-deas, etc. For more of a machining bias, Delcam or Vero kit is good. Fastest growing system at the moment (I think)is Think3, not looked at it seriously, but it looked cool for surfacing. Alessi use it to make funky kitchenware, Buell (SP?) motorbikes use it too I think.

For a sound system capable of modelling curvy bodywork, powertrain, machining, FEA (though you may want a specialist FEA for fibre glass bodywork), I'd recommend Catia V5.

There's loads out there, autocrud has a big market share due too the skill base. They give it away to colleges and everyone and his dog can get a pirate copy to practice at home (probably because the students spend all day trying to crack the software!)

Cheers,

Andy

Edit:
Oh yeah, forgot Pro-e. Not my fave to be honest and not doing too well in the market either at the mo I believe considering the much hyped launch of wildfire.
A respectable solution none the less.
