The web address is www.metasystem.co.uk - If you want operating instructions for a 99T/36T system I can email them to you if you want.

Carl,
Can you help me? My 97 Griff has a Meta alarm. Some while back it suddenly stopped working - though luckily with the car unlocked. I changed the battery in the fob, but it still didn't work, and the spare doesn't work either.

I'm not overly worried as the immobiliser still activates, but anyone can still open the doors and glovebox. Is there a simple fix?

For any META alarm probs, if your dealer can't help, try the Top META Man for the South. Carl Baker 01730-231772 or mob. 0772-0723407. He works solely on TVR and Ferrari and I believe does most dealer warranty work. He was the only person in the country able to replace my siren - even META didn't stock it.

No, I am not on commission either!

Thanks dodger, I'll give him a call. Sounds like the Mark Adams of immobilisers! Also sent a mail to the Meta site.

Perhaps it can fixed so it works from more than 3" range!!!

I think one of his specialities is re-coding blippers! (and supplying sirens). Mine works from about 15ft!

I had similar problems on Saturday. I opened up the fob and found that the button has a small bumb on it that must connect with a small, rectangular, silver button on the circuit board. The circuit board was a pretty loose fit, and on putting it all back together, it worked.

Mind you if both failed together, it's unlikely to be the problem. Also, I'm not sure what alarm I have, so yours could be totally different.

The Meta alarm fob is a fairly stubby black thing with a triangular arrow type logo stamped on it. I think your 99 Chim(p) will have the same!
