Cheers. AA fitted new battery, voltage wasn't enough to cancel alarm. After battery fitted, ran sweet all the way home. Turned off, left for five minutes, wouldn't restart. Armed alarm with four flashes, disarmed with one flash, got into seat, turned ignition and got fuel pump primed, (loud as normal), on turning key to cranking position, only yellow light on dash and wheezing noise from boot area!!!
Don't know if immobiliser same as on Cerbs, but if it is there is a whole load of info on our forum.
Cerb temporary fix is to keep finger on button for eons until kicks into life, or bypass starter circuit at immobiliser plug. Check that this is appropriate for Chims though, I don't want you burning anything out needlessly.

Sounds like the Chimaera/Griffith hot start issue. Leave it 30 mins (or more) and all should be fine again.
Think it has now been traced to poor wiring between the starter motor and battery. When I had my Chim, there was a wiring mod available from David Beer (modwise??) that you could fir in about 10 mins. Sorted my hot start issue straight away.
This is assuming that the car is now fine and has since restarted??

If it's a meta alarm/immobiliser four flashes indicates an error. Two flashes to arm, single flash to disarm and three flashes for partial arming (no internal movement sensor).
Er not on mine, according to the manual 4 flashes means ok, anything less means a problem. 1 long flash to disarm (97 4.0 Chim with Meta alarm/immobiliser) I guess they are all different!LordGrover said:

My car gives the three flashes for partial arming but the internal sensor is permenantely powered and cannot be deactivated.Try sitting in the car and partially arming the system then move around after the 30 sec delay time and the alarm goes off.
After reading the instruction s from the manual I thought I had a problem with the alarm but Carl Baker assures me this is normal for some cars.
This was one of the curious mods that TVR did to the alarm systems.
