Who remembers the bit in Star Trek when Captain Kirk gives the command to engage warp speed and the stars on the screen all reduce in size as the enterprise accelerates away ?

Well that was what it felt like looking in my rear view mirror today as cars rapidly shrunk in size.

Warm road, warm tyres, sun shinning, top down……… this is why I have a TVR.

Ah yes, it's fun. As is taking out a friend, holding the revs at 3000 for about 5-10 seconds in second gear, then say "ready?", and when they say yes, plant your right foot - the 4.0 will drop the nose down and fly. Magnificent fun.

Sadly, the 5 doesn't seem to do that!!

It's said that when Shellby was promoting the AC Cobra he used to stick a $10 note to the windscreen then tell his passengers it was theirs if they could reach it.

I think you'll find *the* best star wars effect is found when you're driving through heavy snowfall in the dark, lighting flakes in your headlamps.

Since I have the right audience, can I just trot out my two most groan-worthy Star Trek jokes? No? Well sod yer, I'm going to anyway.

Q. Why did Lt. Uhura cry?
A. Because William Shatner

A. Why is the Starship Enterprise like a piece of toilet paper?
Q. Because they both fly around Uranus picking up Klingons

Ithankyou. Mine is the teleporter in the corner. One to beam up please.
