Anyone know a good place to get a nasty scratch on my Griff, about an inch long just above and behind the nearside rear wheel, repaired in Suffolk.

Might try Kerridges as its just down the road from me but got a feeling I won't like their quote smile

This may sound silly but is it worth getting someone like Chips Away over for a quote. If it's only an inch long?

Chips Away did a great repair to my Lotus Elan. Give them a try!
Cost me about £125

its tough, but bite the bullet and have it repainted, the problem with companies like chips away is after a year or so the repair will become much more noticeable, as the lacquer deteriorates. a rear quarter repair would be about 300 quid in a good bodyshop.

This will probably send some of the more conservative readers in to apoplexy but do consider the Max Power type paintshops. I had one do a repair similar to tne one you're describing on my griff and it was briliant. Good price too.

When you think about it, it makes sense. They are used to working with unusual colours, flips, colour matching etc, and do a lot of GRP work.

Had good and bad experience of Chips Away in the past, think it all depends on who you get around.
The Griffs at Offords for a service tomorrow so I will get them to quote. If its on £300 for the rear quarter then thats fine, rather have it done properly.

I would agree with "shake n bake" get the whole wing repainted rather then mess around with a hit or miss localised repair.
