5.0 head and block questions

Hope somebody could answer a couple of questions

1. What cc are the 5.0 heads 28cc ??
2. Where the earlier heads 14 bolt and the later ones 10 bolt ??
3. can the 14 bolt heads be used on a 10 bolt block
4. what size where the inlet / exhaust valves.

1. Don't know. 10 bolt heads almost certainly started life as 28cc heads, but may have been skimmed or the cc otherwise altered by TVR's valve work.

4. On the 5 litre they should be 'big valves' ie bigger than Vitesse / RR standard. Can't remember the size but the bible gives it, or you can find it with a Gassing Station search.

You can use 14 bolts head, but you should not, unless they are fully worked on and have bigger vales fitted and wasited stems. they have higher CR also.

Also if you do use them don't use the other row or bolts.

Valve sizes will be around 41.5mm Inlet and 36.5mm Exhaust.

43mm , 37mm are about the biggest that can fit in a RV8 head.
