Having difficulty identifying the Diff' on my Chimaera. From what I can see from pictures in a manual, it looks like it could be a 'hydratrac'. Now I want to be sure so as I can change/use the correct oil. It's a BTR unit and the drain plug is on the rear face of unit [not underneath] and the filler plug is half way up on the offside of the unit, this also has a tag saying, 'LSD HIGH PERFORMANCE use correct grade lubricant'.
Can anyone help please?

The fins are the give away.

Mine looks just like that but I thought it was a standard BTR diff not the Hydratrac option, it’s in a 97 Chimaera 400. Are there any external differences or other ways to identify the Hydratrac version?

Yep, mine looks like that too with fins. Car was Chim 400 1999.

That looks exactly like my non-hydratrak BTR diff as fitted to the last two 4.2 Cerberas I've had.

GKN had fins on the back. Not BTR.

Looks exactly like my standard BTR, but I could be wrong.
