Hi have a tvr tuscan on an x 2000 engine was rebuilt by tvr 3000 miles ago for last owner. What should the oil pressure be when car is warm, also now and again diagnostic comes up on dash saying code L or f is this a common fault? any way owning one of these is a big learning curve so if any one can help cheers.

Pressure will be 40+ when cold at 2k rpm and about 10-15 when warm and idling - it's all part of the fun.
My 2000 Tuscan engine gave up at 16k miles, but I had probably been given poor advice about what to look for it tems of when it was safe to start booting it. The car REALLY needs a oil temp gauge. I now have a S6 Cerb & use race spec oil and wait until the pressure drops at idle to know the oil is warm before using the heavy right foot. Have a look at the oil thread above and the Speed Six forums.

Good luck - who did the rebuild?

Code L is eratic speedo signal and code F is fuel zero switch. the speedo gap reseting will cure first fault but dash would require repairing to cure second fault. I recomend C M electricals to repair dashes. dont be worried if oil pressure drops as low as 8 psi at idle also

All good advise... just check the oil if in doubt and keep it full.
