Any tips from seasoned veterans?
Hardly a veteran but I did go last year and endured one long, cold, wet and muddy day. Even the grandstand seats provided little protection. The grass car parks and "roads" out were all on slopes and slippery as hell. Perhaps I was just unlucky.I was lucky enough to fly-in back in 96. We paid £5 for the landing/airfield cost? and a smart minibus drove is straight in to the FOS. No one asked the four of us to purchase a ticket! I don't know what the social ramifications of such are, but hey, we had a great time and saved some money. Go by plane - it's free................

Going on the Saturday and managed to get Park grandstand seats. In the Chim if the weather is OK.
It's a superb day out but I have only been when the weather has been great.
There is nowhere I know that you can get so close to such exotic machinery. The hill runs are almost secondary IMO.
Give the Revival a go as well - first time last year and loved it.

A bit off topic but any Tivs here going to the Goodwood Breakfast meet this Sunday? http://www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfastclub/ :
06/04/2008 ‘Modern Sports Car Legends – great drivers’ cars, from 1980 to the present day’
Attracting: Modern post-1980 sporting marvels, including Lotus, Caterham, TVR, Ariel Atom, Porsche and many more...
We'll be a 'themed' car so in the paddock or even on the grid area of the track. Can't guarantee the weather north of Guildford though if you're coming that way and that's an issue for you
See you there!! Nick.

Bunch of Cerbs heading down... and a few stragglershttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
As for FOS, nearly decided to give it a miss this year due to dilemma about clash with LM Classic, but FOS won out. Will do my now traditional Fri/Sat stint (which doing the same last year meant I missed the atrocious weather of the Sunday). It's not a great deal of fun in the wet and a lot of the car parks do struggle when deluged, but you can't account for the great british summer - if it looks like rain then I forego the fancy stuff and head down in "normal" transport... at the end of the day, you arrive park up and leave your car until you depart again. It's changed a lot of the last few years (read got bigger and busier) but it's still a corking day out.... get down early.
