Chaps need a bit advise, I am going to fit the Innovate LC1 Wideband lambda sensor for the Emerald fitment, where is the best place ??, I am keeping the main cat so where have other people fitted theirs on the original type manifolds.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you still have the pre cats in the manifolds.

It has to go before the Main Cat so on the basic setup it can't been done really because of the design of the Y Piece, hence the original systems had two lambdas. You will have to put it in the manifold, it can be setup on one bank emerald said, but I would put a boss in the other side so you can swap the sensor over to check the other side, when setting up the car and if you have running problems in the future.

I was going to get the precats removed, the old sensor boss looks like it will not take the width of the innovate sensor, yes I was going to fit a boss on both manifolds. Shame the emerald doesnt accept 2 inputs unlike the DTA system.

Nigel

This does beg the question of why are you keeping the main cat ?

Emerald can do you a MOT map along with 2 others, and at worst get one of Clives or ACT's decat Y piece and stick the old one back in once a year to get it through the MOT if the mapping won't do it alone.

Mine is placed in the front of the Y piece below the collection point of both manifolds so that it isn't influenced by one side or the other too much.

If you choose to use the original cat you will have to get the LC-1 into the very centre of the collector somehow, maybe there is some space above the cat itself, otherwise it'll be too influenced by one bank, or by the cat.

Obviously anything after the cat is useless . . If you PM me I have some photos. . .

Here's where we put them on a griff 500, which doesn't have pre-cats. The bosses were tigged in situ.

you can put the wideband anywhere in the system you like you just need to be aware of certain limitations .. ie if you put it in one manifold you can't average the two banks (they should be the same all other things being equal of course) .. but the further down the exhaust you put it the slower you will have to make the sampling rate and make sure you have properly sealing exhaust joints.
